Seven Swans a Swimming

As we count down the days until Christmas, we celebrate with Margaret Patterson’s The Swans, c. 1914, on display in the exhibition American Arts and Crafts Woodblocks, located on the 3rd floor. This vibrant color woodblock print depicts four white swans in the foreground with three swans in the background (one is in the distant left corner). As far as gifts are concerned, a color woodblock print of swans would be far superior to seven actual swans a swimming!
