Founded in 1880 by Maria Longworth Nichols in Cincinnati, Ohio, Rookwood Pottery would grow to become one of the most renowned American Art Potteries. Employing fine artists as decorators, Rookwood’s wares are highly unique and often feature realistic depictions of nature rather than the stylized decoration typical of the Arts and Crafts era. See these and other outstanding Rookwood works in MAACM’s pottery and tile galleries!
